Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and for how long. Last updated: September 2026.
What we collect
- Account: a random player ID created when you first open the app (guest account). If you link an Apple account, we receive the identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your email address.
- Profile: your trader name and avatar choice.
- Game data: your balance, items, listings, trades, reputation, badges, questions and answers on listings. The game is a trading simulation, so these records are the game itself.
- Chat: messages you post in the Harbor Channel and private messages you send, the players you follow or block, reports you make or receive, and the time you accepted the chat rules. Messages rejected by our filter are not stored: we keep only the rejection type and time (to apply rate limits and automatic mutes).
- Technical: a hashed device identifier (to detect multiple accounts on one device), server access logs kept for 90 days, and a notification token if you allow notifications.
- Advertising: the app shows optional rewarded videos through Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier and IP address to serve and measure ads. We do not track you across other companies' apps. See Google's policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
What we do not collect
Location, contacts, photos, voice, health data or payment card details. The chat is text only. In-app purchases (when available) are processed by Apple; we receive only the purchase status.
Why we process it
- To run the game: trades, listings, seasons, reputation.
- To keep the economy fair: detecting fraud, multiple accounts and rule violations.
- To deliver chat messages and keep the chat safe: filtering, rate limits, reports, moderation and mutes or bans.
- To show you notifications you asked for (a message notification never contains the message text).
- To pay out rewards for videos you chose to watch.
Who sees it
- Other players: your trader name, avatar, reputation, listings, badges and public transfer records are visible in the game. Messages you post in the Harbor Channel are visible to everyone in that room; private messages are visible only to you and the other player. This is by design.
- Moderators: our moderators see public channel messages. They see a private message only when it has been reported, together with a few surrounding messages of that conversation for context.
- Service providers: Supabase (database and authentication, EU Frankfurt), Google AdMob (ads), Apple (sign-in and purchases), RevenueCat (purchase status, when purchases are enabled). We never sell your data.
Retention
Harbor Channel messages are deleted after 7 days and private messages after 30 days. A reported message is kept as a snapshot with the report so that it can be reviewed; the snapshot is deleted 180 days after the report is closed, also if the account that wrote it is deleted. Filter rejection records are deleted after 30 days. Other game data is kept while your account exists. If you delete your account (⚙ Settings → Delete account), personal data is removed within 30 days; anonymised transaction records may remain for economic integrity. Access logs are deleted after 90 days.
Your rights
Under GDPR and similar laws you can access, correct, delete or object to processing of your data. Write to tradetycoon@doesonejob.com; we answer within 30 days. You can also delete your account inside the app at any time.
Children
Trade Tycoon is not directed at children under 13 (see the Terms of Use). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it.
